Convert PDF to Word online, free. Keep the layout and every line stays where it sits on the page, over the letterhead, boxes and logos, which is what you want for a form, an invoice or a letterhead. Choose flowing text instead and you get plain paragraphs to retype. Either way it runs in your browser, so your PDF is never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a PDF to Word for free?

Drop your PDF in above and click Convert to Word. You get an editable .docx back, free, with no sign-up and no watermark.

Will the layout be exactly the same as the PDF?

Keep the layout puts every line back in its place on the page, in its own font size and colour, over the page's logos, rules and boxes. It is close to the original for forms, invoices and letterheads. Text you retype will not reflow the page furniture around it, so for heavy re-editing use flowing text or the Core PDF desktop app.

Does my PDF get uploaded to convert it?

No. The conversion runs in your browser on your device, so the PDF never leaves your computer.

Can I convert a scanned PDF to Word?

A scanned PDF is an image, so there is no text to lift out of it in the browser. You still get the pages in Word, but the words stay part of the picture. Core PDF's built-in OCR reads scanned pages into editable text.
